Not so many Tequilas has achieved the status of being mysterious as a drink and at the same time flavorful once tasted. In Arandas’s country of origin, it has a huge following - long before it has gained ground in the US.
Arandas reached the US soil in 1997 via Martinez Brands, barely one year after its first roduction of the official product line, the El Charro. The El Charro has three different varieties: the Añejo, Reposado and Silver. Reposado and Añejo are flavored tequilas while the silver brand was released for those who wanted their tequila to be raw as it is. Martinez has also imported other El Charro variations to the US soil and has been very successful in getting some followers of the drink. Another brand of Arandas released by Martinez is the Tres Reyes collection.
But in Mexico, the variety of Arandas is so much more. There are exactly ten different tequila products; each of them has their own variety and all of them available in Mexico. The process of creating these products is almost the same. The aging and the ingredients may be different but it still adheres to Arandas’ strict process of producing the best Tequila. The company follows a ten-step process right from inspecting vital ingredients such as Agave until bottling. What makes each product different is based on the process of diluting. This process determines the actual alcohol content of each product. This step also determines the outcome such as Gold and Silver varieties. Maturation of each product is also different, for example, Reposado Tequilas only takes six months of maturation while the Añejo Tequila is kept in the barrel for 24 months. This time frame exceeds the requirement of the Mexican authorities to ensure the tequilas are safe and of high grade quality.
Even though some of the company’s tequilas are not marketed in the US soil, Arandas products are also available in some of the biggest countries in various parts of the globe. From Canada, to Costa Rica, to Japan and UK, Arandas’ El Charro Tequila’s are felt and appreciated by various tequila drinkers. Although the products are different with each country, they all bear the name of name of El Charro and ultimately Arandas.
Common reviews of Arandas and their tequilas are strong. At first sip, you’ll easily recognize the strong flavor of tequila; in fact, it’s even stronger than most tequila compared to other products. That’s where the beauty of Arandas’ Tequila lies – it’s strong but underneath it is you’ll feel the sweetness that comes from citrus with white pepper. Continuing your tequila journey, you can exactly tell the oak and agave in each sip of their tequila. Depending on how long these flavors are matured, the strength of the oak, agave and in some types of tequila, pepper flavoring differs.
