Armadale Vodka

Since the early 90s, hip-hop and alcoholic drinks have been going together, with brands continuously appearing with in their lyrics. Starting with Tupac, these products are in no way connected to the rapper but they are seen as part of their lifestyle. The rapper can go on using the same lyrics but doesn’t have anything in return.

Armadale’s stint in the US is not the same as other liquors. Instead of being a mere word in a rappers lyric, Armadale became the drink that is purposely distributed by a rapper and a recording company that’s closely connected to rap world. Jay Z, Damon Dash and Kareem Biggs Burke have acquired the sole license to distribute Armadale in the US. The acquisition was in 2002 and until today, they have been successful in promoting this brand in the country. They purchased the rights from the Scotland Based company, the William Grant and Sons.

Armadale was created in Scotland. The process of creating this vodka is very tedious as the product is bottled only after it has experienced a triple distilling process. Instead of using the traditional wheat as the only product to be used in making great vodka, Armadale tried adding barley to make to make the flavor more challenging. The result: one of the best super premium vodkas in the country. It ranks with some of the best super premiums in the country such as the Belvedere or Grey Goose. As its being promoted by famous names in the rap world, they are gaining numbers in drones.

The vodka only comes in one flavor. It comes in clear bottle with the label being written in black. The banner is wrapped near the neck of the bottle horizontally. You’ll easily recognize the bottle since Armadale is one of the vodkas in the country that doesn’t have any variety in terms of flavor and it only comes in one size, 750ml. Even with it’s simplicity in presentation, it has been the favorite of some of the vodka drinkers.

With all the endorsement and comparison with some of the country’s top brands, how does the Vodka really taste like? As its one of top brands in Vodka, it gives out a really smooth taste. The presence of barley changes the taste of this particular brand of vodka. Armadale leaves a little bit of tingle in your tongue once you get your first shot. The feeling that you’ll get from the first time you’ll drink the vodka will be the same until it hits your stomach. Some may rank it second only to popular brands but it can actually be the same flavor and taste if associated with different cocktails.

Above all, Armadale is now closely associated with the hip-hop world. This distinct flavor may not give you the ability to rap, but it does give you the idea of what the hip-hop world are talking about when they say something about vodkas and gins.
