Bambu Rum was originally invented by David Kanbar who was formerly with SKYY Vodka. His wife used to complain about the rum based drinks like mojito and said that they were too harsh and gave her headaches. Probably they were too severe for her sensitive taste buds. Through his five year experience in the vodka business, he knew that headaches and harshness were caused by impurities.

Kanbar then developed the white-and-light Bambu rum. It is a polished rum which is made from quadruple distilled and triple filtered, specially selected sugar cane. It comes in a pink bottle with a screaming premium-label chic. The female-friendly drink compares well to well textured vodka, but its plus point and real taste is felt when it is mixed with any type or number of fruit juices, like pineapple, orange and cranberry.

This rum was very different from the current offerings that used to overpower rum cocktails instead of complementing the traditionally luxuriant, tropical flavors. Bambu rum on the other hand is pure, dry and light rum of the best quality. This is achieved by utilizing technically the most advanced filtration and distillation methods available. In fact, Bambu rum is the first rum which was produced by using methods of quadruple distillation as well as triple filtration, thus yielding matchless purity and a nicely smooth texture.

Kanbar wanted to settle for nothing but the best so he utilized a proprietary distillation procedure to produce the rum in very minute batches and slowly filtered to retain the essence of hand picked sugarcane. This ensured a delicate balance of subtle sweetness, purity and a truly aromatic experience. Though this drove up the cost immensely, and was quite time consuming as well, but it was necessary for achieving the finest quality white rum in the world.

Bambu rum is packaged in a cosmetic type glass bottle having silk screened horizontal lines, wood cork with a silver medallion and a pink label to attract female fans. Bambu really goes beyond ordinary rum in that its taste is distinctive and very sophisticated. It is amazingly smooth and light, and yet at the same time it is nothing but rum.

Kanbar’s aim is to create discerning consumers, who don’t usually drink rum, to be introduced to Bambu.
