Havana Club Rum is made in Santa Cruz del Norte, Cuba and was established by Jose Arechabala in the year 1878.

After the distillery’s expropriation by the Cuban government, and subsequent escape of the Arechabala family to Spain, this Rum is now being produced by Havana Club International which is a joint venture between Pernod Ricard and the government of Cuba.

Since world class sugar cane is produced in Cuba supported by the exquisitely fertile soil and favorable climate, the best and fresh amongst the molasses is selected by Havana Club for production of its Rum. These are then blended with fresh water and yeast and left for fermentation, which after being fermented for number of days is distilled through column stills to leave a clear liquid ready to be made into Rum. This liquid is then aged in barrels and blended perfectly with fresh sugar cane distillate to be re aged and distilled until it is fit to be called the choicest Rum.

The color, aroma and complexity of the liquid is achieved by the help of the wood of the barrel in which they are stored for ageing. The process of successive ageing and blending is some what unique in Havana Club which makes them a world class Rum, something different from the others. These Rums are then bottled in different types of appealing bottles and shipped for sale around the world.

The main brands of the Havana Club include Anejo Blanco, the white Rum which is considered to be perfect for mixing in cocktails. The Anejo 3 Anos is a very light and dry white rum which has vanilla and chocolate notes in it.The Anejo Especial is an intense premium dark Rum n Golden color. The Anejo Reserva is extreme smooth Rum having a powerful taste with a light aroma. It can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. The Anejo 7 Anos is another premium rum being recognized as Cuba’s one of the best Rums. The Cuban Barrel Proof Rum is Rum which is bottled straight from the barrels in which they are stored thus retaining the original aroma and color of the barrels.
