Jim Beam Whisky is a quality bourbon whisky produced from grains of corn, rye and barley malt sticking to a meticulous process with perfection.
Jim beam Varieties

The Distillery of the Jim Beam Whisky is located at Clermont in Bill County 25 miles south of Louisville in Kentucky. Jacob Beam founded the Jim Beam Bourbon Brand in the 18th Century. The first Bourbon Whisky from his Distillery was introduced in the year 1795. With steady progress and innovations, the Jim Beam Bourbon Whisky is now one of the top selling bourbon whiskies worldwide.

Distillation Process

Jim Beam Whisky is made from grains of rye, corn and barley malt which are hammered into fine meal before being cooked with pure ironless water which converts the starches of grains into sugars. Quality ingredients are cooked for a longer time at low temperature to yield mellow grain flavor. Fermentation is done by adding yeast to the mash which converts the sugar into carbon dioxide and ethyl alcohol. This fermentation process takes about three to four days to complete. After the process of fermentation the mash is put into a still which is heated to reduce the water content of the liquid. The vapor so formed is captured and cooled to form ‘low wine’.

Second distillation makes ‘high wine’ by refining the alcohol proof and flavor after which the high wine is stocked in barrels without adding any additives or filtering. The flash charred oak barrels containing this distilled liquid are stored in airy hilltop houses for aging and maturing of the whisky. This aging provides the natural amber glow and smooth taste to the whisky and gives it its true character. This whisky is aged for a minimum of about three to four years.

Varieties

The main varieties of Jim Beam Whisky are White Label Kentucky Straight Bourbon which has a high proportion of rye and corn and is aged for about four years. It has 40% alcohol content and is available in vanilla and delicate floral notes.

The Black label Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a eight year aged whisky having more depth and more complex fruit and vanilla notes than the White Label. With 45% ABV it is slightly higher priced than the White Label.

The Basil Hayden's Kentucky Straight Bourbon is produced from hand picked barrels and is matured for a longer period of time. It is a light, aromatic and spicy whisky matured for about eight years with a high rye formula.

The Jim Beam Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a nine year aged whisky made from a high rye formula with note of sweet, tangy fruits, spice and nut in it.

Jim Beam whisky is an exciting mix for so many cocktail recipes and is a bartender’s choice for making tempting drinks out of it.
