Magellan gin is a blue Gin which is handcrafted using world’s finest natural botanical and distilled four times to give a rich, smooth taste.
Magellan Gin

The Angeac Distillery in France produces Magellan Gin. The name Magellan Gin is given after Ferdinand de Magellan, who visited Spice Islands and discovered clove and other spices which later gave birth to Gin. The unique taste of Magellan Gin is produced as a result of usage of cloves as a botanical in its production.

Apart from delicately perfumed French juniper berries, Magellan Gin uses several other spices and botanicals in its production. Few major ingredients used in Magellan Gin production are Cloves which impart an aromatic quality and flavor, Irish which gives the Gin its crisp, refreshing taste, Cinnamon for sweetness, Grains of Paradise from West Africa to add a spicy note, Cassia, Orange Peel, Licorice, Nutmeg, Coriander and others. Each one of these botanicals play an important role in providing Magellan Gin its unique aroma and spicy, smooth taste.

Magellan Gin is produced by fermentation of a rich wheat grain, Capet and spring water drawn from the Gensac spring. The water is naturally filtered by passing through Grande champagne limestone thus offering a crisp and smooth taste. The mash of wheat and water is tripled distilled by hand. Now after triple distillation the master distiller adds juniper berries and ripe, sun dried botanicals to the neutral spirit and distills it for the fourth time.

This fresh distillation process truly captures the intricate and complex flavors of the botanicals and creates a refreshingly smooth and balanced gin. After this the exact correct and mellow taste of Gin is decided by the master distiller who knows from his experience the most liked taste of the Gin. It is during the process of fourth distillation that Iris, one of its botanical, gives it its crisp refreshing taste.

The blue colored spirit of Magellan thus finally produced is then packaged in clear glass attractive design bottles to give them their distinctive look. Magellan gin is a 100% neutral grain spirit, a little lighter at 88 proof. This is the perfect proof to balance the alcohol and complex flavors.

Magellan Gin is a smooth drink which can be enjoyed ‘neat’, on the rocks, or in any of the classic gin drinks and cocktails like gin gimlet, gin martini, gin & tonic, or the dirty martini. Due to its smooth taste and pure nature it provides an excellent spirit to the master mixers to mix it in long drinks and cocktails and can create wonderful enjoyable drinks. Magellan Gin can thus be described as an unparalleled Gin which can be enjoyed in any form at any moment and at every place.
