The range of whiskies under this brand consists of-
• Magilligan 8 Years Old, Irish Pleated Malt –
ï‚§ Aroma - Syrupy and Sweet but not cloying, fruity, sweet lime juice, very soft grassy peatiness. The aroma initially is of a farmyard, then of smoke, turned earth, cereal, grass and ripe fruits.
 Overall Taste – Soft juicy texture and well balanced.
 Finish – Light, biscuity and sweet with a hint of toasty dryness.
• Magilligan Pure Pot Still –
 Aroma – Grain and Malt, mixed herbs, wood shavings and turf, an aroma similar to the wet roads after a rain shower.
 Overall Taste – it has a sweet buttery and tongue coating taste like lime and biscuits after being washed with cream soda.
 Finish – strangely dry, peppery and spicy.
• Magilligan 1991 Sherry Wood Finish –
 Aroma – Lemon grass, oily, dried fruits, dates, tobacco. It has a soft milky note and the overall aroma is quite rich.
 Overall Taste – Lemon curd, Fruity, Marshmallows, Icing sugar, pastry. The taste is sweet but slightly bitter on the edges.
 Finish – burnt orange and bitter. Although biscuity maltiness and spiciness provide the much required balance.
• Magilligan 1991 Limited Edition, Sherry Wood Finish -
 Aroma – light fruits: grape fruit, citrus pith, tinned peach. Lemon grass and tobacco tins, tea caddy, lightly juicy and sweet with crispiness.
 Overall Taste – juicy oiliness, bitter orange, hazelnut, orange peels. The taste has a big sherry embrace giving way to juicy peat and mince pies with time.
 Finish – nutty, tickly and spicy marmalade.
They are produced in batches of four to five casks at a time only. This is to maintain their only one of its kind character. The Magilligan Pure Pot Still is matured for six to seven years.
Magilligan whiskies are bottled and distilled by the independent Cooley Distillery located in Riverstown, Dundalk. They are not triple distilled like most of the other Irish whiskies. Instead, they are only distilled twice. All of them are single malts and not blends.
