Wine continues to rise in popularity throughout the world as more and more companies and individuals bottle their own brands. What better way to impress a date than to make your own special brand for him or her. Following are three easy steps on how to make wine out of Grape Juice.
The measurements are relatively loose because the efficacy is dependent on the amount of grape juice used. Additionally, the mixture variants are what give wine its distinct flavor. Follow the guide carefully however use common sense when measuring the ingredients.
Mix your favorite grape juice with 2 parts water. This mix will ultimately create a moderately strong wine. Remember the higher concentration of grape juice to water there is, the stronger the resulting wine will be. It is best to add at least a little water for taste. Mix with 1 part sugar until the liquid becomes cloudy and half part of yeast. Stir thoroughly making sure that all ingredients are mixed well. Place the contents into a container with a lid, preferably a plastic container that allows expansion. Place a hole in the lid of the container to allow Carbon Dioxide Co2 resulting from fermentation to escape. If the hole is too large, the contents will turn to vinegar, however if the hole is too small, your wine will spoil.
Store your contents in a dark, cool place for 3 to 7 days. A closet or garage works well. You will notice small bubbles rising throughout the fermentation process. Be sure to check your wine each day, and when the bubbles stop rising, remove the lid (there may be a slight smell to this). Next place coffee filter over the top of the container and pour your wine through it. This process should effectively eliminate any excess yeast and sugar.
Discard the coffee filter in the trash with everything in it. It is now time to enjoy your wine. Let us know how it turns out. This process can also be used with apple to form a cider.
