One for the records

In my former home town (Albemarle, NC) the following happened this weekend: A drunk illegal alien was heading South on a 4 lane highway, veers across the other 3 lanes of traffic, including the turning lane, leaves the road, and crashes his pickup into a house. The illegal then gets out of his vehicle and starts verbally abusing the homeowner, who stabs Chico twice. Guess who got arrested? Yes, the homeowner. What is wrong with the picture?
Also this weekend, Charlotte NC released the following information concerning the crime rate in that city: out of 850,000 residents in Charlotte, 400 individuals are responsible for 80% of the crimes committed? I need to stop now before I burst a blood vessel.
