It is called as London dry gin due to the process of its distillation followed for the production of this gin.
The original variant was “Tanqueray London Dry Gin†which was introduced in the year 1830. The prime botanicals of Tanqueray London dry gin are coriander, angelica root s well as juniper. This gin is manufactured with 47% alcohol and at 94% degree proof. The prime markets for marketing Tanqueray London Dry Gin are Canada, United States of America, Duty Free, Japan and Spain.

To cool the summer of 2006, “Tanqueray Rangpur Gin†was launched in the regions of Delaware, Washington D.C. as well as Maryland. It gives the strong flavor of lime which is due to the limes of region of Rangpur. It also gives flavor of bay leaves and ginger, as these are added to the gin at the time of final distillation process. This gin is produced with 41.3% alcohol and at 82.6 degree proof. This gin is sweeter than other gin and gives a strong essence of fruit flavor, notably grapefruit. But due to the improper marketing strategies the product could not catch the market of Gin as well as the mind of gin drinkers. In the year 2004, due to this reason the production of Tanqueray Malacca Gin was discontinued.
Tanqueray Gin is a very well made gin and thus has captured the market of gin and has become the preferred taste of Gin drinkers.
